LEGACY School of Discipleship

Outreach

The training at LEGACY is comprised of two distinct segments (phases) of time. Foremost, we want the student to isolate themselves from the world by experiencing a kind of “exodus” from culture, religion, traditions, friends, and the like. This is a time of personal separation, consecration, sanctification, and impartation. The major focus for this time is personal equipping in the spiritual dynamics of living the normal Christian life.

Phase two of the LEGACY training is to practically engage in ministry through evangelism. This will be a time of adding “feet to their faith” and learning to minister in the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ.

For the 2012 spring training, LEGACY is reaching out to the Peruvian Amazon! Iquitos, Peru is the largest city in the Amazon jungle region of Peru and it is the largest city in the world that is completely inaccessible by land from the rest of the country. There are no roads leading into or out of Iquitos, with the exception of one sixty mile stretch of asphalt that connects Iquitos to the town of Nauta.

Iquitos will be home base for those who participate in this trip, which has as its focus the sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with residents of poor neighborhoods in and near Iquitos and organizing those new believers into groups that will become churches. Team members will spend their days sharing the Gospel and leading in small-group for the new believers. There will be opportunities to participate in sports, visit schools, and lead in worship with Peruvian believers.

We invite all LEGACY alumni students to participate in the trip.
