LEGACY IS FOR DISCIPLES IN TRAINING
The apostle Paul said it best, “A man should account us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.” (1 Corinthians 4:1) LEGACY, its leaders and its training, is a servant of Jesus Christ! Our mandate from the Lord is to preach Him crucified and to present every man before Him full-grown in the mystery, reality, and experience of the normal Christian life.
Disciples are those who have encountered Jesus Christ as a Person, not a theology, philosophy, formula, or religion. Jesus Christ is a living Person – nothing else! We ache for young Christians to enter into this experience in reality. LEGACY therefore ministers extensively during the training on these four aspects:
- The divine life of God
- The Person of Jesus Christ
- Living in the Holy Spirit
- Partnering with God’s eternal purposes
Disciples are those who have been equipped to live a normal Christian life in at least five areas:
1. To possess an inward reality in spiritual matters. The student must live in a continual and genuine state of revival on the inside by enjoying Jesus Christ as the all-inclusive center of the Christian life.
2. To be Spirit-empowered in everything the student does. Our burden here is for each student to live perpetually under the anointing of God, and to fulfill all “spiritual demands” by and through the indwelling Spirit, and not the energy of the flesh.
3. To live a lifestyle that is Word-based versus culture-based. We wish for each student to know the revelation of the Word and to preach, teach, and live every aspect of it with conviction.
4. To be an energetic participant in the Body-life to discover the unique role each one must fulfill in building up the Body of Christ through the unique grace of God and the gifted capacity He has meted out to each.
5. To be practically virtuous in lifestyle. This is where true spirituality is realized – our service and love to others! Students have to learn what it means to be useful in whatever arena they find themselves in and how to be established in genuine Christian character and testimony.
LEGACY uses both the classroom and practical life experiences during the training to train disciples in spiritual growth and character development for ministry.
Disciples are those who expand God’s kingdom and eternal purposes intentionally. LEGACY’s agenda is for each student to encounter Jesus Christ, no doubt! We further aim to equip each student in five basic areas of normal Christian living and virtue. However, all this serves a greater purpose, and that is to become co-laborers with God in expanding His kingdom. The training has to produce a kind of lifestyle and subsequently make each student effective in every arena of life as God’s instrument and ambassador.

INTERNAL CHANGE FOR ETERNAL IMPACT
 During the training at LEGACY, students will primarily focus on the development of their “inner man”. We want this time to be one of service, but even more, we want the disciple to become still before the Lord. We aim to impact the spirit-man in a way that will lead to an experiential understanding of the Biblical principle of walking in the Spirit.
Our burden at LEGACY came about as we observed the following issues in the life of young Christian adults across America and the world: Many students have had sincere “spiritual awakenings” through spiritual events and the like. However, many fail to grow and mature following that initial experience. As a result, many young Christians live with an inconsistent, “roller-coaster” type walk with their Lord! It is pitiful to observe how many new believers have no idea about the function of their spirit-man and how to live under the regulation of the life-giving Spirit of Jesus Christ. Ignorance regarding the various functions and dynamics of their spiritman leave many many young Christians incompetent regarding the practical experience of life in their regenerated human spirit mingled with the Holy Spirit. Many young believers therefore end up living a Christian life God had never intended for them to live! What is alarming is the contentment many young converts settle for in their walk with their Lord. Our goal at LEGACY is to challenge that lifestyle!
BELIEVERS MUST BECOME DISCIPLES
The Lord's call is as urgent today as it was in past ages. His call for  repentance is still the same and furthermore, His invitation to follow as a disciple in training is as relevant today as it was two thousand years ago.We plead with you to answer His call for spiritual training! Set this training time aside in your life now and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you regarding your Lord's indwelling life and nature. All the Lord's believers must also become the Lord's disciples. Believers receive the Lord's life, but disciples learn to live the Lord's life. We hope to see you with us in training soon! |
